Network Facilities Engineer (NFE)
The Technology Associates’ Network Facility Engineer (NFE) will work with the client switch technicians to determine the capacity needed at each facility for present and future growth. The NFE identifies T-1 and trucking capacity for each facility, and identifies all routes and Points of Presence (PoP) necessary to keep switching costs as low as possible and within budget. The NFE also conducts all channel planning and helps the Interconnect Coordinator initiate orders. Additionally, the NFE will meet with LECs and CLECs to determine entrance points and mixing locations for a facility to assure proper bandwidth efficiency across the network. The NFE tracks all information for the switch to properly manage channel facilities and assignments. The NFE designs and implements contingency plans as needed, including wireless and fixed plans to meet network launch dates. Also, the NFE coordinates weekly status reports for each facility to monitor expected T-1 install dates and track circuit installs. Technology Associates uses the latest IT technology to provide clients with a seamless upload into their management tracker through the use of SharePoint, IP-based reporting.
